TNT has been scoring a ton of points in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup however, the KaTropa are also giving up a lot of baskets.

Head coach Bong Ravena hasn’t been happy with his team’s defense for a while and since he started complaining about it, the KaTropa have given up 118, 125, and 100 points to opponents.

Saturday at the Big Dome, TNT gave up 113 points to Meralco.

The KaTropa have won all those games though, and at 6-0, they’re the first team to make te playoffs in the season-ending joust.

Despite giving up huge numbers, defense is still a key reason why TNT is winning games says super import KJ McDaniels.

“You know, that’s what helps us win games, the defense,” he said.

“We just gotta keep getting better,” McDaniels.

How to get better at defense you ask? KJ has an answer and it’s all about how the KaTropa individually react to avoid too many breakdowns.

“I just feel like with our defensive schemes, we just gotta stick together,” McDaniels said.

“We gotta talk more and be able to cover for each other especially when someone gets beat,” he added.
