Standhardinger joins Gilas hours after trade away from SMB
Christian was excused from talking to the media but was a total pro in training says Gilas head coach Tim Cone.

A big-time trade was announced Monday when San Miguel Beer sent Christian Standhardinger to Northport for Mo Tautuaa.

A few hours later, both big men were at the Meralco Gym to practice for Gilas Pilipinas.

Standhardinger suited up for Gilas’ 5x5 SEA Games team and Mo practiced with his 3x3 squad.

Christian was excused from talking to the media but was a total pro in training says Gilas head coach Tim Cone.

“I’m proud of him for coming,” Cone said.

“It really showed me that he really wants to be here,” he added.

Just mere hours after finding out he was part of a blockbuster trade, it would have been understandable for Standhardinger to excuse himself from extra practice.

But him choosing to participate in Gilas training shows what kind of player Standhardinger is says Cone.

On his personal observations alone, coach Tim is confident that Christian will be unleashed at Northport.

“I think he’s gonna be a monster at Northport,” Cone said.

“It’s tough to back up a June Mar, a five-time MVP. He’s gonna go out there and he his own man and I think he’s gonna put up monster numbers, that’s just my opinion,” Coach Tim added.
