PBA: Team no sleep for Ayaay after blowing layup for the win
“Di ako makaka-tulog nito. Mahihirapan akong matulog nito. Yung di nga kami manalo, hirap na nga akong matulog eh. Layup ko na nga lang, sushoot ko na nga lang… Sayang,” Ayaay said. (PBA)

ANTIPOLO — MJ Ayaay had the chance to make the biggest shot of his young PBA career Friday here.

Ayaay was open for a layup late in regulation against the undefeated TNT KaTropa in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup.

With a scoring opportunity to give the Aces their second win of the conference, Ayaay’s layup went in.

And then it went out. And then there was overtime and Alaska bowed to the KaTropa.

“Sayang. Charge to experience na lang,” Ayaay said after the blown layup.

“Akala ko nasa likod yung import eh. Taas niyang tumalon. Akala ko nga shoot na yon. Direcho na akong pa-defense, patakbo eh. Ayun pala, umahon,” he added.

After blowing the layup for the win, Ayaay says he’s about to have more sleepless nights now. He’s been having trouble sleeping after the Aces started the conference 0-5.

Still, he’ll take the TNT game as a learning experience for him.

“Di ako makaka-tulog nito. Mahihirapan akong matulog nito. Yung di nga kami manalo, hirap na nga akong matulog eh. Layup ko na nga lang, sushoot ko na nga lang… Sayang,” Ayaay said.

“Keep working hard parin ako. Di parin ako titigil kung anong meron yung team namin, tulungan ko sila. Positive alng ako lagi. Positive always,” he added.
