San Miguel’s latest big piece makes an instant impact.
Mo Tautuaa, acquired by the Beermen in a straight trade with Northport earlier this week, made his debut for San Miguel Sunday, playing 19 minutes in a win over Columbian in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup.
Tautuaa scored 10 points, all in the opening period, and added five rebounds. It was a pretty solid outing overall, considering he’s been a Beerman for less than a week.
“Was it good or bad? It’s just finding my spot,” Mo said on his first game for San Miguel.
“We have a good team and it’s already tried and true you know, so it’s just finding my spot within that offense and defense, making sure I’m helping the team as much as I can,” he added.
Finding his true fit with the Beermen will be Tautuaa’s main storyline as the conference goes for San Miguel.
As he goes through the motions with his new team, Mo will make sure he contributes, just like Sunday’s effort.
“I didn’t come in with anything, I wasn’t really worried about how many points I was gonna have. I just wanted to make sure I help the team, whether offensively or defensively. Just making sure I fit you know,” he said.
“I’m just one piece added to a full machine out there, and you see it, San Miguel is a good team. We’re a good team. I gotta find my spot within that team,” Tautuaa added.
