There’s really only one team — actually it’s one person — to watch out for in a loaded 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup slate this week.
Over a week since getting traded, Christian Standhardinger will debut with the Northport Batang Pier.
Standhardinger, the Fil-German forward who was the no. 1 pick in the 2017 Draft, still has knee issues but should be available for action with the Batang Pier.
First opponent for Standhardinger post-trade? San Miguel Beer, the Grand Slam-seeking squad that traded him away mid-conference. The same team that made a controversial trade two years ago to get his rights on Draft night.
Standhardinger played only four full conferences with the Beermen. His first PBA game not in a San Miguel uniform will be against San Miguel.
