PBA: Standhardinger drills dagger as Northport takes down SMB

Northport with Christian Standhardinger is pretty good to say the least.
The Batang Pier dropped San Miguel Beer Wednesday in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup, taking a big 127-119 win at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Debuting for his new team over a week following his trade away from the Beermen, Standhardinger got his first victory with Northport.
Standhardinger showed up against his former team, drilling the dagger in the final minute to give the Batang Pier a 124-117 lead.
Northport made it back-to-back wins and improved to 3-4 while San Miguel dropped to 5-2 with the loss.
Playing 45 minutes, Standhardinger finished with 18 points to go along with five rebounds, seven assists, and two steals for Northport.
The Fil-German forward wasn’t the only hero for the Batang Pier though as new import Michael Qualls also debuted for Northport with 40 points and 18 rebounds. Jervy Cruz added another 21 points and 10 boards for coach Pido Jarencio’s crew.
San Miguel got anoter big game from Dez Wells as the import dropped 56 points in a losing effort. June Mar Fajardo was the Beermen’s top local with 22 markers.
