End of the road for TNT’s undefeated streak.
NLEX scored its biggest win of the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup so far, stopping the KaTropa juggernaut with a huge 126-113 win Friday at the Big Dome.
The Road Warriors pounced on TNT with a scoring outburst in the second half, outgunning the KaTropa behind import Manny Harris.
Harris scored 40 points for NLEX, 20 in that pivotal third-quarter run when the Road Warriors took control. He also had six rebounds, nine assists, and seven steals.
Local support was also huge for NLEX with Kiefer Ravena scoring 16, Jericho Cruz finishing with 15 points, and Poy Erra adding another 14 markers.
TNT was a little shorthanded with top guard Jayson Castro leaving the game with a minor Achilles strain.
The KaTropa got 42 points from import KJ McDaniels and another 35 points from RR Pogoy in the loss.
NLEX kept solo second place with a 6-1 record following back-to-back wins. TNT still leads the league despite the loss as the KaTropa sport a 7-1 mark.
