New-look Meralco gets its statement win.

The Bolts dominated San Miguel Beer Sunday in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup, scoring a convincing 125-99 victory at the Big Dome.

Meralco took over solo third with the win, improving to 5-2 in the standings following the 26-point decision. The Beermen have suffered back-to-back losses and dropped to 5-3.

Import Allen Durham was sensational for Meralco, finishing with 29 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 assists for a triple-double.

Baser Amer shot his way for 26 points while Chris Newsome addded 14. Allein Maliksi debuted for the Bolts with 12 points.

Five-time MVP June Mar Fajardo scored 31 for the Beermen. Import Dez Wells was limited to just 18 points but he did suffer an apparent ankle injury in the second quarter, cutting his playing time to only 18 minutes.

Quarterscores: 30-21, 64-49, 92-70, 125-99.
