PBA: NLEX back in first place after overwhelming ROS

NLEX is back on top of the PBA standings.

The Road Warriors overwhelmed Rain or Shine Wednesday at the Cuneta Astrodome, scoring a strong 111-91 win in th e 2019 Governors’ Cup.

Backed by a strong second half, NLEX led by as many as 21 points on its way to a fourth straight victory. The Road Warriors tied idle TNT for first place with identical 7-1 marks.

NLEX is the no. 1 seed if the playoffs started tomorrow.

ROS lost a second straight game for a 2-7 record for 12th place.

Down 12 early, the Road Warriors recovered in time and dropped the hammer in the third quarter, outscoring ROS, 32-16, to take full control of the game.

Manny Harris finished with 29 points for NLEX, remaining undefeated as a Road Warrior. Harris also had 12 rebounds and 11 assists for a quiet triple-double.

Jericho Cruz led the local attack for NLX with 13 points while Poy Erram and Kiefer Ravena scored 12 points each.

ROS got a new import in Rich Ross to replace the injured Kwame Alexander. He finished with 20 points and eight rebounds.

Rookie Javee Mocon added 17 points for the Elasto Painters.
