Chris Banchero is off to a good start for Magnolia.
Acquired by trade a couple of days earlier, Banchero debuted for the Hotshots Wednesday as the defending PBA Governors’ Cup champions took on Phoenix at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Banchero played 22 and a half minutes and scored 10 points on top of five rebounds and three assists. The Hotshots won too.
“My first game was good. I’m just happy we got the win and closed it out against a team that was fighting for their lives to get to the playoffs,” Banchero said.
“I thought we played well tonight,” he added.
Banchero says it’s gonna take a while for him to get used to Magnolia, which is only natural as he’s only been a Hotshot for a good three days.
Still, Banchero welcomes this new feeling with a new team and adds that it’s only going to get better from here.
“I'm still getting used to it, so I feel brand-new. It's gonna take a while to get to develop that chemistry,” Banchero said.
“But once that happens, I think we're gonna be a really tough ball club,” he added.
