“Sayang two weeks na lang playoffs na eh.“ — Don Trollano after his trade from TNT to Blackwater. (PBA)
Don Trollano evolved to a strong role player for TNT, perhaps even the KaTropa’s best.
He was a revelation in TNT’s Finals run in the Commissioner’s Cup and was set to be another key piece for the KaTropa for their playoff run in the Governors’ Cup.
But then he got traded to Blackwater. The playoffs might be next to impossible for him at this point.
“Sayang two weeks na lang playoffs na eh. Mas masarap maglaro pag playoffs eh,” Trollano said after he debuted for the last-placed Elite Wednesday, which ended up being an overtime loss to San Miguel Beer.
“Yung pressure nandoon. So mas masarap maglaro pag playoffs,” he added.
Despite going from first to last in the team standings, Trollano bears no ill towards TNT.
As a veteran with a championship, Trollano understands how the PBA business works already.
“Sa umpisa syempre na-shock ako, di ko naman akalain talaga,” Trollano said.
“Wala eh, buhay talaga ng player na ma-te-trade. Acceptance lang para sakin. Wala namang ano, family pa rin naman sila [TNT],” he added.
Now with Blackwater, Trollano says his game will be the same. He’ll remain the tough role player he is.
In his first game for the Elite, he came off the bench and scored 14 points.
“Same approach naman. Go hard pa rin ako,” Trollano said.
