PBA: Almazan’s big game sparks Meralco’s win over Columbian

Meralco is closing in on that top-4 finish in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup.

The Bolts continued their electrifying run Friday, zapping Columbian Dyip at the Big Dome, 92-74.

Sparked by big games from import Allen Durham and Raymond Almazan, Meralco improved to 7-2 in the standings, keeping its hold of solo third place.

Former two-time Best Import Durham finishing with 34 points and 14 rebounds for Meralco and the Bolts won a third straight game.

Meanwhile, Almazan grabbed a career-high 24 rebounds to go along with 18 points and two blocks. Chris Newsome added another 10 points for Meralco.

Columbian is slowly losing its place in the top-8, dropping to 4-5 in the team standings. CJ Perez led the way for the Dyip with 21 points while import Khapri Alston added 19.

Columbian 74 - Perez 21, Alston 19, Tiongson 9, Khobuntin 7, Cahilig 5, McCarthy 4, Reyes 3, Flores 3, Calvo 2, Faundo 1, Camson 0, Corpuz 0.

Quarterscores: 25-11, 45-29, 67-58, 92-74.
