Greg Slaughter was a DNP Friday in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup as Barangay Ginebra took on TNT in a crucial showdown.

Turns out he’s hurt with a finger injury.

“We're still unsure how long Greg will be out. He dislocated his thumb. We're hoping it's a few days, but we can't really tell,” head coach Tim Cone said on his 7-foot center.

“We didn't see any ligament damage in the MRI. That was a clear dislocation. You could see his finger was dangling when he got hit during practice,” he added.

In Slaughter’s absence, Japeth Aguilar took all of his minutes and touches, balling out in the Gin Kings’ big win over the KaTropa.

In 33 minutes, Japeth missed only three of his 16 shots and finished with a team-high 29 points on top of 10 rebounds.

“I just tried to play hard, play within the system,” Japeth said.

“Nagkataon lang talaga na yung bola napupunta sakin. Tinake ko lang mga opportunity na nabigay sakin,” he added.
