PBA: Wright hits all the clutch shots as Phoenix wins last game

At least Phoenix’s season ends on a high note.
The Fuel Masters picked up a win to end their season, beating fellow also-ran Blackwater, 120-117, Friday at the Big Dome.
With the victory, Phoenix avoided the cellar with a 3-8 record in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup. The Elite wrapped up their year with a 2-9 mark.
Matthew Wright was in full clutch mode, leading Phoenix’s comeback from a 10-point deficit with 1:39 left. Wright hit three straight triples to force a 109-all tie.

Wright was the top local for Phoenix with 28 points, 20 in the fourth quarter and overtime. He also had six rebounds and four assists.
Import Alonzo Gee finally got his PBA win on his last game of the conference, leading Phoenix with 34 points. Doug Kramer started in his retirement game and saw 19 minutes of court time. He scored three points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
For the Elite, Marqus Blakely was the high man with 37 points and 17 rebounds while Mac Belo was good for 25.
Blackwater will finish last in two our of the three conferences this season.
