PBA: Aces drive past NLEX to complete playoff cast

The 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup playoff cast is complete.

Alaska punched its ticket to the next round, dominating no. 1 NLEX for a 106-90 win Wednesday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

The Aces completed a huge turnaround, entering the quarterfinals as the no. 7 seed with a 5-6 record. Alaska finished the elimination round with a 5-1 mark after starting to conference with five straight losses.

NLEX keeps the no. 1 seed with an 8-3 record despite the loss.

Six players scored in double figures for Alaska, led by import Franko House with 24 points.

Kevin Racal, Abu Tratter, and Jvee Casio all scored 12 points each for the Aces.

Manny Harris led NLEX with 22 points in the loss.

The Road Warriors enter the quarterfinals with back-to-back losses but they hold a twice-to-beat advantage against no. 8 Northport.

Alaska 106 - House 24, Casio 12, Racal 12, Tratter 12, Manuel 10, Herndon 10, Ahanmisi 8, Enciso 7, Ayaay 4, Brondial 4, Thoss 3, Galliguez 0.

NLEX 90 - Harris 22, Quinahan 17, Ravena 15, Ighalo 5, Soyud 4, Paniamogan 4, Miranda 2, Cruz 2, Alas 0, Fonacier 0.

Quarters: 33-23, 63-46, 81-65, 106-90.
