ANTIPOLO — Vic Manuel has joined in on the fun of PBA players sporting dyed hairstyles.
Alaska’s new “golden boy” has no specific reason for his new hair color. It’s not even for good luck as the Aces overcame a 0-5 start to make the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup playoffs as a no. 7 seed.
Vic says there was an opportunity for him to get a free hair-coloring session, so he took it.
“Kahapon parang na-tripan ko lang. Yung friend ko sa Bulacan, nag-open siya ng millk tea [shop] niya, so sakto meron din siyang parlor,” Manuel said.
“Sayang naman, libre. Nagpa-kulay na rin ako,” he added.
On a more serious note, Manuel says that the playoffs have started early for the Aces.
Alaska beat no. 1 NLEX here to make the playoffs outright. A loss would have put the Aces in a one-game knockout against Columbian.
The Aces wanted to avoid that at all costs.
“Ni-remind lang samin ni coach na dapat playoff mode na kami, kasi pag natalo kami makikipag-laban pa kami sa Columbian,” Manuel said.
“So talagang pinilit namin makuha yung panalo, para maka-pasok na kami sa playoff, di na kami lalaro sa Columbian. Para maka-prepare din kami ng maayos,” he added.
