The 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup semifinals will be set Wednesday.

NLEX and Northport will duke it out for the last time this year and the winner will move on to the next round to take on Barangay Ginebra.

No. 8 Northport forced a knockout game with a big win to start the playoffs last Monday. The Batang Pier have actually beaten NLEX twice in their last three games.

A third win will finally push Northport to the semifinals.

The top-ranked Road Warriors are in an actual slump, counting the two losses they already have at the hands of Northport, NLEX has dropped three straight games after an 8-1 start for the conference.

Fortunately, NLEX earned a twice-to-beat edge by virtue of being the no. 1 seed, that one win to advance has just proven to be elusive for the Road Warriors for the time being.

The final NLEX-Northport game this season is set for 7:00 p.m. live from the Big Dome.
