PBA: Balanza goes from Knight to King as Ginebra picks Letran hero

From brain surgery to Letran championship to a member of the barangay, that’s quite a journey for Jerrick Balanza.
Balanza has been drafted to the PBA, with the Gin Kings taking the former Knight with the first pick of round 2 Sunday at Robinson’s Manila.
Jerrick was the second rookie picked up by the Gin Kings after Arvin Tolentino at no. 10.
After Balanza, Richard Escoto went to Blackwater with the second pick of round 2 while William McAloney was taken by NLEX.
Alaska picked Rey Publico and Jaycee Marcelino back-to-back in round 2 while Aaron Black was reunited with his father Norman at Meralco as the 18th overall pick.
Vince Tolention was selected by ROS with the 7th pick of round 2 while AC Soberano is headed to NLEX as the 20th overall selection.
Yankee Haruno was taken by Magnolia with the 21st pick while Ginebra added Kent Salado with the 22nd overall selection.
Wendel Comboy went to ROS while Northport ended round 2 by adding another former UST Growling Tiger in Renzo Subido.
