Back to the PBA we go.
The 2019 Governors’ Cup playoffs resume Saturday, with the best-of-5 semifinals finally getting underway.
Barangay Ginebra and Northport are up first, with Game 1 of their series starting at 6:45 p.m. live from the Big Dome.
Ginebra is the no. 4 seed and are through to the semifinals after once again ending San Miguel Beer’s Grand Slam hopes. Most of the Gin Kings, led by head coach Tim Cone, are coming off the SEA Games where Gilas won a gold medal.
Meanwhile, the Batang Pier are the no. 8 seed, with their improbable run this conference extended after a classic triple-overtime win over top-ranked NLEX.
Northport is making only its second-ever appearance in the PBA semifinals and first in four years.
