Safe to say, Game 1 of the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup against TNT was not Meralco’s best performance this conference.
The Bolts were down by as many as 22 points and ended up taking a series-opening loss to the KaTropa.
Meralco did have a nice stretch in the fourth, cutting that 22-point deficit down to just eight but a nice stretch in just a quarter will not be enough.
“Our offense was bad, our defense was bad. I guess against this type of team we can’t start playing with just six minutes left in the game and expect to be okay,” import Allen Durham said of Meralco’s outing.
“We definitely felt the rust in the first three quarters,” he added.
The Game 1 beating hopefully knocked the rust off Meralco says AD.
Getting into a rhythm on both ends is a priorit for the Bolts to make this a series.
“I think we got to figure out how to be better on defense and offense,” Durham said.
“We got to move with more rhythm and as we do that I think we’d be okay,” he added.
