ANTIPOLO — The all-MVP derby will drag on to the bitter end.
Meralco has tied its 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup semifinals against TNT, taking a must-win Game 4 Saturday at the Ynares Center here, 95-83.
The Bolts have pushed this series into a deciding Game 5, which will be played Monday at the same venue. Winner moves on to battle Ginebra for the title.
Two-time Best Import Allen Durham simply didn’t want his season to end, pouring 36 points and 13 rebounds to lead Meralco in the big win.
Five locals scored at least seven points for the Bolts led by Baser Amer’s 12 points.
The Bolts actually trailed by as many as 14 points early after the KaTropa unloaded a quick 15-0 blast in the opening period.
But Meralco settled down and was in control from the second quarter onwards, eventually taking a 12-point lead late which became its final winning margin.
All five starters were in double figures for the KaTropa with KJ McDaniels leading the way with 26 points. However, after the hot start, TNT just couldn't keep up with Meralco.
