San Miguel Beer just made its first move in 2020.
The Beermen are sending embattled forward Kelly Nabong back to Northport and will recieve forward Russel Escoto in return from the Batang Pier. The trade was made official by the PBA Thursday.
Nabong, acquired from Northport for Gabby Espinas in the previous season, has been indefinitely suspended at San Miguel for figuring in a practice fight along with former import Dez Wells, Arwind Santos, and Ronald Tubid.
Arwind and Tubid are still technically suspended by the Beermen as well.
Escoto, part of the original Gilas Draft in 2016, joins the Beermen for the upcoming 2020 season. He was traded to the Batang Pier by Columbian for Lervin Flores and Joseph Gabayni.
Nabong reunites with coach Pido Jarencio at Northport. He will also team up with Christian Standhardinger, who was acquired by the Batang Pier from San Miguel for Mo Tautuaa.
