LUCENA — Meralco may have just lost a golden opportunity in Game 1 of the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup Finals.

The Bolts lost a double-digit lead in the second half as Barangay Ginebra stole a 91-87 series-opening win.

On the road here in Game 2, the Bolts look for an equalizer but history is not quite on their side.

Meralco is 0-2 overall at the Quezon Convention Center, including a Game 1 loss of the 2017 Finals here. The Bolts are also 0-4 in their last four out-of-town games.

Meanwhile, the Gin Kings have won five of their last six games in Lucena. Following that recent success, a 2-0 lead could prove crucial for Ginebra.

Tip off for Game 2 will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday here.
