LUCENA — Meralco issues an electrifying answer here to tie the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup Finals.
The Bolts lit it up from deep Friday, scoring a crucial 103-101 win over Barangay Ginebra at the Quezon Convention Center.

John Pinto started the three-point party for the Bolts, hitting four in the opening period. Baser Amer got his big game, firing two crucial treys in the fourth to help hold off the Gin Kings, the last one putting them up 10 with 2:13 to go.
Ginebra cut that deficit to two with 3.1 seconds left after clutch triples from Justin Brownlee and LA Tenorio but Meralco ran a simple play to waste away the time and hold on for the victory.
Allen Durham finished with 21 points and 18 rebounds to lead Meralco while Baser Amer and Chris Newsome added 17 each.
Raymond Almazan was good for 15 points. John Pinto and Nico Salva were quality guys off the bench, adding 12 and nine points respectively.
Justin Brownlee hit a game-high 35 points in the loss. Stanley Pringle was Ginebra’s top local with 23 points.
Game 3 will be back at the Big Dome Sunday.
