Ginebra unloaded a huge third-quarter run to shut down Meralco, 92-84, Sunday in Game 3 of the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup Finals Sunday at the Big Dome.

The Gin Kings outscored Meralco by 19 in the third and once again got some clutch hits from LA Tenorio and Japeth Aguilar in the fourth quarter to hold off the Bolts and gain a 2-1 series lead in the best-of-7 titular showdown.

Up by only five, Tenorio hit a booming three for a 90-82 lead before Japeth Aguilar connected off a pick-and-roll with Justin Brownlee for the game’s final score with 30 seconds to go.

Ginebra had three 20-points scorers led by Justin Brownlee, who finished with 24. JB also had nine rebounds and nine assists.

Japeth added 23 points and seven blocks while Stanley Pringle was good for 23 points in the win.

Chris Newsome scored 20 points in the first half and ended with 24 for the Bolts. Meralco got 23 points and 13 rebounds from import Allen Durham.

Game 4 is Wednesday still at the Big Dome.
