Allen Durham, without a doubt, gave his all as Meralco waged war with Ginebra for the championship in the PBA Governors' Cup.
Unfortunately, his all wasn't enough as the Bolts bowed once more to the Gin Kings.
As always, though, Durham was gracious in defeat. "Ginebra was the better team this series," he said afterward.
And even though the crowd favorites continue to have his number, the Best Import says he still has his sights set on that elusive first title. "I just want a championship. We gonna get back in the gym, they gonna get back in the gym and we're going to try our luck again," he said.
He then continued, "We're gonna keep coming until we get that breakthrough."
Individually, Durham has gotten all he could get as he has been Best Import in three of the four conferences he had played in.
The only thing missing now for the American is a championship. "I'm determined to win a championship. With these guys, they have really grown to be my brothers and, you know, they deserve one too," he said.
He then continued, "I'm definitely still hungry."
Whether or not he will try again clad in Meralco's blue and orange, though, is yet to be determined. Asked about his return, he answered, "Yeah. We'll see. We'll see."
