Barangay Ginebra is not messing around, Justin Brownlee will be back as the team's import for the next PBA season.
After leading the Gin Kings to at third PBA Governors' Cup title in four seasons, Brownlee will suit up for the barangay anew.
First up will be in the 2020 Commissioner's Cup where Ginebra will look to regain a different lost title.
Then, Brownlee will play for the Gin Kings for a fifth straight Governors' Cup as the team shoots for back-to-back crowns.
"We expect to bring him back in the second conference next time and third conference after that, and he certainly deserves a break physically, you know, physical-wise during the All-Filipino," Ginebra head coach Tim Cone said of Brownlee.
"But he'll be back next year. And I think he'll be better even next year than he was this year," he added.
For his part, Brownlee will take some rest but before he rejoins Ginebra, he'll look at other opportunities to keep himself sharp.
If San Miguel-Alab Pilipinas comes knocking again, an ABL return is a big possibility for Brownlee.
Alab won its first and only ABL title so far with Brownlee two seasons ago.
"I'll probaly just rest for a little bit, maybe a few weeks," Brownlee said on his immediate plans after Ginebra's Governors' Cup title run.
"I'm not sure, maybe the opportunity with Alab will be there. I wanna be here in the Philippines if I'm playing basketball. I love it here," he added.
