PBA: When will Calvin Abueva be reinstated for Phoenix?
Abueva had a number of controversial incidents last season, causing him to miss basically two conferences already and still counting.

With less than two weeks to go before the opening of the PBA's 45th season, Phoenix's star forward Calvin Abueva is still serving his indefinite suspension.

"Nagu-usap kami," Commissioner Willie Marcial said when asked about the status of Abueva Tuesday.

"Mayroon pa akong pinapagawa. Pag naayos na lahat yun at okay na, i-elevate ko sa Board yung recommendation ko," he added.

Despite no clear timetable, Phoenix is confident to have Calvin back this season.

"We are hopeful. For us, we’re just moving forward from this unfortunate incident. Some are supportive, some are not. But we’re just moving forward. It happened eh, it’s something we didn’t like. But for us, we’re supporting Calvin," Phoenix Governor, Atty. Raymond Zorrilla said.

"He has been practicing with us. He is keeping in shape. He has, on his own and even without any salary, he is performing CSR activities. I think the most recent was the one he made in Taal during the Taal Volcano eruption," he added.

Abueva's road to get himself reinstated has been long. Phoenix is confident that its star forward has been sincere in his repentance.

"I have several instances when I talk with Calvin. I think sincerity-wise, good faith-wise, he has shown that he has learned his lesson," Zorrilla said.

"He has been suspended since July. It is a drain on his salary and finances. I don’t think he will again put his family at risk," he added.
