In 14 years in the PBA, Meneses won three PBA titles on top of his MVP award in 1995. He's also a three-time BPC winner.

Former PBA Most Valuable Player Vergel Meneses is one of the best players to ever suit up in the league.

On the silver anniversary of his MVP win, Meneses is set to receive the President's Award handed out by the PBA Press Corps.  Mayor Vergel is the second person to receive the award after the PBA Board led by Chairman Ricky Vargas in 2018.

The Aerial Voyager is also set to be the guest of honor and speaker for the annual awards night. The presentation was originally set for March 16, but has been postponed for a later date due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Speaking of, Meneses is at the frontlines, battling the coronavirus as Mayor of Bulakan. He's on his first term after winning in last year's mid-term elections.

In 14 years in the PBA, Meneses won three PBA titles on top of his MVP award in 1995. He's also a three-time BPC winner.

After retiring, the former no. 1 pick coached the JRU Heavy Bombers in the NCAA, leading his alma mater to five Final Four stints.
