Jet Spikers to use experience, familiarity in PVL campaign
Philippine Air Force looks to soar high in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.
Chemistry, familiarity with its system and experience are the advantages Philippine Air Force has against the rest of the field.
Throw in a seasoned Thai import and the Jet Spikers could be on their way to claiming the inaugural Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference title.
Head coach Jasper Jimenez is upbeat for their campaign with veterans Wendy Semana and Joy Cases leading the way for Air Force along with the help of Thai reinforcement Patcharee Saengmuang, who is familiar with the local system of play after leading Cagayan Valley to a V-League title a few years ago.
“Ang advantage namin siguro ay experience at saka matagal ng magkakasama ang mga ‘yan. Magkakakilala na kaya ang adjustment na lang ng kaunti ay sa import,” said Jimenez, who is confident of the team’s bid to win it all sans Judy Ann Caballejo.
Caballejo is undergoing military schooling and will skip action.
Back in the fold for the Jet Spikers, who finished second in the V-League Open Conference last year, are Iari Yongco, May Ann Pantino, Jocemer Tapic and Angel Antipuesto.
The other locals are Camille Abanto, Mariel Legaspi, Gena Andaya, Shaira Bediones, Maria Asuncion Mendiola and Mary Ann Balmaceda.
Air Force begins its campaign against BaliPure on Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Game time is at 2:00 p.m.
The opening playdate will air live over S+A Channel 23, S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream.
Games are every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
