Extra work aside, Gorayeb will take Water Defenders' perfect mark

Playing two games in three days, Roger Gorayeb's BaliPure Water Defenders had to rally from one set down to beat both the Philippine Air Force and the Power Smashers.
BaliPure has been near-flawless so far in the new Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.
They're only near-flawless because the Water Defenders had to work extra to earn their 2-0 record so far.
Playing two games in three days, BaliPure had to rally from one set down to beat both the Philippine Air Force and the Power Smashers.
As is the case in both games, the Water Defenders had to make things work despite obviously still working on team chemistry among other things.
However, despite all of their early struggles, head coach Roger Gorayeb is taking his two Ws with a smile on his face.
"It doesn't matter kung three sets, four sets, five sets. Winning the game is very important for us. Kaya syempre pag three sets, confidence mo mas maganda di ba," he said as BaliPure seized an early PVL lead.
"Sabi ko nga dapat painumin ng gasolina first set pa lang eh para mag-init kaagad. Pero syempre hindi naman nade-decide yung game sa one set lang. Ako I would prefer winning the first set than losing kasi mahirap eh. Pag natalo ka para kang naguumpisa ulit sa second set," Gorayeb added.
Despite a laundry list of adjustments, coach Roger does find something else to be happy about BaliPure aside from the team's 2-0 record.
But it's business as usual as Gorayeb hopes to smoothen the Water Defender's rough edges as soon as possible.
"Yung paghahabol nila, hindi nawawala yung confidence nila kahit lamang ng malaki. Pero sabi ko nga, ayaw ko na nasa ganun sitwayson. Di mo rin masabi, lagi ba pag naghabol ako aabutan ko yan?" Gorayeb said.
