Philippine Air Force braces for a dogfight against Creamline.
Philippine Air Force hopes to score back-to-back victories but expects a tough challenge from crowd-favorite Creamline looking for a bounce back Thursday in the inaugural Premier Volleyball League at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Game time is at 4:00 p.m. and the match will air over livestream. It will also air on a same-day delayed basis at 7 p.m. on S+A channel 23 and S+A HD channel 166.
The Jet Spikers outlasted Perlas, 26-24, 25-21, 23-25, 19-25, 15-13, Tuesday to barge in the win column after a four-set opening day loss to BaliPure.
Taking advantage of its experience and its veteran crew, Air Force turned back the Lady Spikers to join their victim and the Power Smashers with 1-1 slates behind league-leading Purest Water Defenders (2-0).
Five players led by May Ann Pantino’s 18 points finished in double figures the last time out and head coach Jasper Jimenez expects no less from his wards as they face a tough battle with the Alyssa Valdez-led Cool Smashers.
Considered as one of the top contenders to win it all, Creamline hit an early hump as the Cool Smashers fell victim to Perlas, 25-23, 22-25, 19-25, 21-25, last Sunday.
Valdez finished with 25 points in their opener. But the three-time UAAP Most Valuable Player must get more contributions from her teammates to snatch a win.
Young guns Fracesca Racraquin, Jamela Suyat and veterans Pau Soriano and Ivy Remulla need to step up to carry the Creamline to victory.
