Cool Smashers shoot for back-to-back wins
Alyssa Valdez will try to lead Creamline to its second win in a row.

Crowd-favorite Creamline shoots for its second straight victory in a showdown with the Power Smashers Tuesday in the inaugural Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

After dropping its debut in four sets against Perlas, the Cool Smashers barged in the win column with a straight-set, 25-23, 25-16, 25-22, domination of Philippine Air Force last Thursday.

Creamline hopes to continue its momentum when the Cool Smashers troop inside the court for their 6:00 p.m. battle that will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream.

Alyssa Valdez played an all-around game the last time out with 21 points she laced with 11 digs and four excellent receptions. The three-time UAAP Most Valuable Player averaged 23 points per game for the 1-1 Creamline.

Helping Valdez in their charge are Ivy Remulla, Coleen Bravo, Pau Soriano and NCAA rookie of the year Francesca Racraquin.

The Power Smashers are out to arrest a two-game losing slump after a shocking upset against Pocari Sweat in their season opener.

The Nes Pamilar-mentored squad is coming off a sorry 31-29, 26-24, 19-25, 23-25, 19-21, loss to Perlas last Saturday that put the 31-point effort of Jovielyn Prado into naught.

Meanwhile, Cignal (1-0) looks to join early leaders Sta. Elena and Philippine Army when the HD Spikers take on the winless Café Lupe at 1:00 p.m. in the men’s division.
