BALANCE. Five Cignal players figured in double-digits as they rose tot he top of the leaderboard.

While it didn’t come as easy as last time, Cignal was still able to come away with a convincing victory in the 2017 Premier Volleyball League Men’s Tournament.

Lorenzo Capate led four other teammates in double-digits and the HD Spikers regrouped just in time for a four set triumph over Café Lupe, 23-25, 25-19, 25-16, and 25-23 on Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Following a clean sweep of Estetico Manila a week ago, Cignal was caught off-guard in the first set as Jahir Ebrahim got going early on for the Sunrisers.

The HD Spikers wasted no time in fighting back, however, as Capate and Mark Alfafara joined forces in the second set.

It was smooth sailing from that point for Cignal en route to a second straight win to open the tournament.

Alfafara and Ysay Marasigan notched 12 points apiece while Bonjomar Castel and Peter Torres chipped in 11 markers each.

It was Capate who yet again starred, however, with 16 points built on 14 spikes.

Ebrahim paced Café Lupe with 14 points, but was unable to find much help as they dropped to 0-2.
