RISE. Myla Pablo and Pocari Sweat are finally rolling after back-to-back losses to start the conference.
Fresh off its breakthrough win in the 2017 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference, Pocari Sweat served up a statement win.
Myla Pablo showed the way anew and the Lady Warriors had no problems taking care of Perlas in a straight set domination, 25-19, 25-19, and 25-19, on Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
After dropping their first two matches, Pablo and Pocari have now rung off back-to-back sweeps to raise their record to 2-2. “I guess gumaganda na yung galaw ng players. Kaya kita na rin na masaya sila sa loob,” coach Rommel Abella said, nothing but satisfied.
The Lady Warriors’ captain kept proving she has rediscovered her fine form with 13 points, all but two from attacks. This, coming on the heels of an all-around performance with 18 attacks, three aces, and two blocks last Saturday.
More than the numbers, however, Abella said his wards are gaining more confidence just as Pablo is getting used to being their leader. “Okay talaga si Myla na leader. Nakukuha na niya yung kailangan,” he expressed.
Abella was quick to add, however, “Pero I want everybody to chip in din kasi yun ang kailangan ng team.”
Elaine Kasilag and Jeannette Panaga were only willing to heed their coaches call with 12 points apiece in this one. Kai Nepomuceno also added 10 markers.
For the Spikers, it was Dzi Gervacio who was the lone bright sport with eight points. Unlike three days ago, the found no spark to mount any sort of comeback and fell to a 1-3 standing.
