Pocari Sweat captured its fourth straight win.
Pocari Sweat pushed its winning run to four after a walk in the park, 25-21, 25-20, 20-16, demolition of an undermanned Power Smashers side Saturday in the inaugural Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Myla Pablo and Elaine Kasilag led the Lady Warriors’ assault to improve their record to 4-2.
Pablo finished with 18 points coming off 14 attacks, three kill blocks and an ace while Kasilag finished with 12 for the Lady Warriors, who exacted revenge on the same opponent that dealt them a straight sets loss in their tournament opener.
Pocari Sweat faced a Power Smashers side missing the services of Arellano University players Jovielyn Prado, Regine Arocha and Andrea Marzan, who joined the Lady Chiefs in Baguio to participate in the Intercollegiate league.
“Hindi talaga (ako happy), far from satisfied, kasi although nanalo kami we’re far from satisfied sa nilaro ng mga bata,” said Pocari Sweat coach Rommel Abella. “Ang sabi ko nga sa players ko before the game alam natin kulang ang kalaban so kailangan ang laro natin hindi sasabay doon sa ilalaro nila.”
Abella was particularly disappointed with the team playing to the pace of the Power Smashers.
“Every timeout naman namin kanina pinapaalalahanan namin sila na short handed sila tapos sumasabay tayo,” said Abella. “Ang sabi ko nga sa kanila if we have the lead kailangan matuto tayong mag-pad pa ng lead so noong third set lang namin nagawa.”
University of Santo Tomas hitter Dimdim Pacres led the 3-3 Power Smashers with 10 points.
