Water Defenders seek fourth win in a row
BaliPure goes up against its former players when the Purest Water Defenders take on Perlas.

BaliPure puts its unblemished record on the line when the Purest Water Defenders take on Perlas Saturday in the inaugural Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Water Defenders are unbeaten in three games and are at solo lead. They are looking to add the Spikers on their list of victims in the 1:00 p.m. match that will air via livestream.

With a young crew led by three-time NCAA Most Valuable Player Grethcel Soltones, National University’s Risa Sato and setter Jasmine Nabor and Far Eastern University standout Jerrili Malabanan, BaliPure is dominating the contest early.

The Roger Gorayeb-mentored squad is coming off a long break since its rout over Pocari Sweat, 25-23, 25-22, 25-14, on May 4.

But the Water Defenders will face a tough challenge against a team looking to bounce back from a loss and improve its 2-2 slate.

The Spikers absorbed a 19-25, 19-25, 19-25 defeat at the hands of the Lady Warriors last Tuesday.

It will be an interesting match as the core of Perlas will go up against its former team.

Dzi Gervacio, Amy Ahomiro and veteran Suzanne Roces all played for the Water Defenders last year in the Open and Reinforced conferences of the V-League.

Meanwhile, Instituto Estetico Manila (1-2) and Philippine Air Force (0-1) clash in the men’s division slated at 10:00 a.m.
