Philippine Air Force disconnected a streaking Cignal side in straight sets.
Philippine Air Force snapped Cignal's three-game romp with an emphatic, 30-28, 25-19, 25-21, win to tie its victim on top of the leaderboard in the men's division of the inaugural Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.
What was expected to be a tight battle between the two powerhouse teams turned into a one-sided affair after the opening frame with the Jet Spikers walking out of the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan with their third straight win.
Air Force tied the HD Spikers at first to second spots with 3-1 slate.
National University standout Fauzi Ismail led the Jet Spikers' offensive thrust with 15 points coming off 12 attacks and three kill blocks.
National team pool member Alnakran Abdilla and Jeffrey Malabanan finished with 10 markers each for Air Force, which received 30 free points off Cignal's errors.
The HD Spikers' were outplayed by the same team that denied them the Reinforced and Open Conference crowns in the V-League last year.
Mark Alfafara, also a member of the national pool, was the only Cignal player in double figures with 12 points.
Rex Intal, Ysay Marasigan and Lorenzo Capate all had nine markers for the HD Spikers.
