Power Smashers, Spikers face off anew
Perlas seeks its first back-to-back wins in a rematch against the Power Smashers.

Thai imports Hyapa Amporn and Kannika Tipachot debut for the Power Smashers when they face the Perlas Spikers in the inaugural Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan on Saturday.

Already with the green light to see action after securing their International Transfer Certificates, Amporn and Tipachot will try to put the Power Smashers back on the winning track in their 1:00 p.m. tussle with the Spikers. The match will air via livestream.

The Power Smashers are at solo fourth spot with a 3-3 win-loss record and are coming off a 21-25, 20-25, 16-25 loss at the hands of league-leading Pocari Sweat last week.

Perlas, meanwhile, is in search of its first back-to-back win. The Spikers are at third spot with a 4-3 slate.

Perlas is fresh from a 25-23, 26-24, 25-13 win over Philippine Air Force last Thursday. The Spikers are expected to field their Brazilian import Rupia Inck and Japanese reinforcement Naoko Hashimoto after sitting them out the last time out despite their cleared ITCs.

Perlas defeated the Power Smashers in five sets in their first meeting.

Meanwhile, Cignal and Philippine Air Force battle in the men’s division at 10:00 a.m.
