Hindi pa kasi kami kumpleto -- Roces on Spikers' slump

Hindi namin malaro at maikot ang mga tao namin na wala pa -- Suzanne Roces on BanKo-Perlas' losing skid
BanKo-Perlas is taking its next five games with a sense of urgency after the Spikers’s shaky start in the inaugural Premier Volleyball League Open Conference.
With just a single round robin format in the eight-team field, team captain Suzanne Roces stressed that they need to start winning for a chance to advance in the semifinals.
“From the start pa lang sinabi na namin na single round lang tayo,” she said. “So as much as possible manalo tayo, kailangan nating makapasok sa Final Four.”
But fate was not on their side as the Spikers bowed down to powerhouse Pocari Sweat, 21-25, 25-22, 19-25, 26-28, Wednesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
It didn’t help that the Spikers missed the services of middle blocker Kathy Bersola for the second straight game while hitter Nicole Tiamzon saw limited action a day after her return from a vacation. Bersola, the UAAP Season 76 Best Blocker winner, is still on vacation.
“Siguro unang-una hindi kami kumpleto pa,” said Roces of their bad start. “Si Tiamzon kakabalik lang. Hindi pa siya nakakapag-ensayo, ngayon lang namin siya nakasama. Hindi rin siya masyadong nagamit. Si Kathy wala pa. Tapos na-injured pa si Sasa (Devanadera). Sobrang kulang kami sa tao.”
“Kumbaga hindi namin malaro at maikot ang mga tao namin na wala pa,” added Roces, who scored 12 points.
Another problem that Roces thinks they need to address is the team chemistry.
“Isa pa ‘yung teamwork wala pa. Konti pa lang pero kailangang mabuo eh,” she said. “Nakakaensayo kami everyday kaya lang the most of us nagwo-work sa umaga eh. ‘Yung iba magkakasama sila sa umaga, ‘yung mga walang ginagawa, pero ‘yung mga working, after work diretso training.”
“Wala pa ‘yung bonding time namin,” she added. “’Yun pa ang iwo-workout namin siguro kapag weekends na walang training. Para siguro na mas magkakilala kami.”
The Spikers will take on Adamson University next on Sunday and Roces hopes that they can snap their losing slump.
“On our game sa Sunday kumpleto na kami,” Roces said.
