Lady Falcons have a legit building block in Louie Romero
Palaraong Pambansa 2017 Best Setter Louie Romero once again impressed in her second game as guest player for Adamson in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference Saturday, anchoring the Lady Falcons' attack albeit in another losing effort.

Adamson's road back to prominence remains rocky at best but the Lady Falcons look like they already found a legitimate piece for the future.

Palaraong Pambansa 2017 Best Setter Louie Romero once again impressed in her second game as guest player for Adamson in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference Saturday, anchoring the Lady Falcons' attack albeit in another losing effort.

The 17-year-old incoming Grade 12 student finished with five points on four aces and had 30 excellent sets as the young Lady Falcons pushed the Perlas Banko Spikers to four sets.

Despite being one of the youngest players in the tournament, Romero, who attends Kings' Montessori School in Quezon City, relishes the opportunity as this is practically early practice for her before she goes to Adamson for real.

Romero is already committed to the program of coach Airess Padda.

"Masaya po kasi mga pro na po yung mga kalaban namin, syempre mas macha-challenge ka, kung ano yung mga dapat mo i-improve at matutulong mo sa team," she said.

"Nung una, nagulat po ako nung sinabi ni coach Onyok na 'Louie guest player ka sa Adamson.' Sabi ko 'coach seryoso ka?' Parang nagulat ako na na nae-excite. Nacha-challenge din na kabado, parang di ko kayang gampanan yung role ko," Romero added.

With more than a year left before she officially suits up as an Adamson Lady Falcon, Romero is trying to absorb all the knowledge she can get in her first PVL stint.

It can help her once she goes back to school and it shouls fast track her development before she attends college.

"Kailangan po kasi mag Grade 12 tapusin muna yung K-12. Eh Grade 11 pa lang po ako magge-grade 12 pa lang. So next, next year po," she said on her future UAAP status.

"Kung pano po maging mature, yung leadership na ginagawa ko mas madadala ko po sa [HS] team ko," Romero added.
