Water Defenders challenge Lady Falcons, aim to end skid
Risa Sato will be one of BaliPure's weapons as the Water Defenders aim to end a two-game slump.

BaliPure hopes to end a two-game slide and boost its bid for a semifinals seat when the Water Defenders clash with Adamson University Wednesday in the inaugural Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Considered as one of the top contenders after a runner up finish in the previous conference, the Water Defenders saw themselves skidding to back-to-back losses.

Ace spiker Grethcel Soltones, Risa Sato, Aiko Urdas and setter Jasmine Nabor will to arrest BaliPure’s skid in their scheduled 4:00 p.m. match that will air via livestream.

The Water Defenders suffered a painful, 26-24, 25-13, 13-25, 22-25, 11-15, defeat at the hands of the BanKo-Perlas Spikers last Saturday.

BaliPure is at fifth spot with a 2-3 win-loss card behind the Spikers (3-0).

Adamson is on the brink of elimination with a 1-4 slate. Another loss will show them the exit door to join eliminated teams Power Smashers and University of the Philippines.

The Lady Falcons are coming off a straight sets loss to Pocari Sweat, 23-25, 14-25, 19-25, last Sunday.
