Only the hungrier team will advance in the championship round.
It all boils down to who wants it more.
BaliPure head coach Roger Gorayeb points out that Game 3 of their best-of-three Premier Volleyball League Open Conference semifinals series against Creamline on Wednesday will be determined by the hearts of the players battling it out inside the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
“Labanan na lang ng mga matitibay ng loob ito,” said Gorayeb of the deciding match that will start at 6:30 p.m.
Game 3 will air via livestream. Telecast is at 8:30 p.m. on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23 and ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166.
The series went the full distance after the Water Defenders survived a thrilling 25-19, 19-25, 25-16, 18-25, 15-13, victory Sunday in Game 2.
Grethcel Soltones, Aiko Urdas, Risa Sato and Jerrili Malabanan delivered the much-needed offense while Jasmine Nabor was steady in her playmaking to keep the Reinforced Conference runner-up’s Finals hopes alive.
The Cool Smashers drew first blood with a pivotal 25-19, 13-25, 28-26, 18-25, 15-7 win in the series opener Saturday despite playing without ace spiker Alyssa Valdez, who was pulled out by the club’s management for the remainder of the conference due to health reasons and for her national team stint.
Valdez and the Nationals open their campaign in the AVC Asian Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship Wednesday against Hong Kong at the Alonte Sports Arena in Binan, Laguna.
Creamline will put its championship berth hopes at the hands of veterans Rosemarie Vargas, Pau Soriano, Ging Balse and Cesca Racraquin.
The best-of-three Finals series opens on Saturday.
