Lady Warriors, Jet Spikers battle for first Finals spot
Who wants it more?

Pocari Sweat needs to control its first ball and play consistent all throughout the match if the Lady Warriors want to extend their reign in the Premier Volleyball League.

The Lady Warriors march into one final battle against Philippine Air Force in their best-of-three Open Conference semifinals series Wednesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan for the right to occupy the first Finals seat.

Game time is at 4:00 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream.

Reinforced Conference champion Pocari Sweat’s ace spiker Myla Pablo stresses the importance of her team to come up with good reception for them to unleash their attacks.

“Kailangan po namin talaga maging consistent sa first ball naming,” said Pablo, the Reinforced Conference Finals Most Valuable Player. “Kapag may ganoon kami, nakakapalo kami nang maayos. Doon kami magsisimula. Mag-aadjust na lang kami sa training ng iba pa naming kailangan gawin against Air Force.”

With their shaky first ball and terrible service receptions in Game 1, the Lady Warriors absorbed a straight sets defeat at the hands of the Jet Spikers last Saturday.

Realizing their mistakes, Pocari Sweat came out the following day with a steadier performance on reception and floor defense and banked on its experience to outlast Air Force, 25-22, 16-25, 23-25, 25-21, 15-12, on Sunday to force a winner-take-all series decider.

Pablo, Elaine Kasilag and Jeanette Panaga wound up with double-digit scoring to spearhead the Lady Warriors’ victory.

The Jet Spikers will lean on veterans Joy Cases, Iari Yongco, May Ann Pantino and Jocemer Tapic.
