All eyes are set on veteran Cesca Racraquin when San Beda College opens its campaign in the inaugural Premier Volleyball League, which starts Saturday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
Racraquin, who played for Creamline in the Reinforced and Open conferences, will try to rally a vastly improved Red Lionesses against some of the country's best collegiate teams.
San Beda is in Group B together with NCAA rival defending champion Arellano University, College of St. Benilde, Technological Institute of the Philippines and UAAP squads Adamson University and University of the Philippines.
Racraquin and the Red Lionesses finished 8th in a 10 team field of the same conference in the defunct V-League.
Helping Racraquin, the NCAA Season 92 rookie of the year, are holdovers Rebecca Cuevas, Nieza and Jiezela Viray, Criselle Amador, libero Daryl Racraquin and Satriani Espiritu.
The tournament will also serve as a gauge for coach Nemesio Gavino as San Beda begins its build up for the 93rd NCAA. The Red Lionesses finished fourth in the NCAA last season.
San Beda opens its quest for glory on Sunday against TIP.
