Lady Tams, Lady Stags collide in PVL debut
Far Eastern University hopes to start its PVL campaign on a right foot.

An intact Far Eastern University side takes on a rebuilding San Sebastian College in Group A of in Group A of the inaugural Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan on Sunday.

The Lady Tamaraws will field a solid core of veterans at 4:00 p.m. and are hoping to give new head coach George Pascua a welcome gift in FEU’s first major tournament since parting ways with former mentor Shaq Delos Santos after UAAP Season 79.

The match will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream.

Fresh from leading BaliPure to its Open Conference title conquest a few weeks back, Jerrili Malabanan and setter Angel Cayuna are back in action, this time to try to lead FEU to the championship.

Other holdovers are top setter Bernadeth Pons, Toni Basas, Heather Guino-o, Kyla Atienza and Kyle Negrito.

Middle blocker Celine Domingo will officially don the FEU jersey since transferring from University of the East.

While the Tams are enjoying the luxury of experience and cohesiveness, the Lady Stags are looking to build chemistry with a relatively young roster.

SSC-R will miss the services of top hitter Grethcel Solones and Kath Villegas, who exhausted all of their playing eligibility.

Head coach Roger Gorayeb, the architect of BaliPure’s championship, will bank on his remaining veterans Vira Guillema, Nikka Dalisay, Dangie Encarnacion, Alyssa Eroa and Joyce Sta. Rita.

The winner of the match will join early group winner Ateneo de Manila University, which swept Jose Rizal University on Saturday.
