Arellano U challenges San Beda College for solo lead
Jovielyn Prado will try to lead Arellano University against NCAA rival San Beda College.

Reigning NCAA champion Arellano University and San Beda College dispute the hold of the solo lead in Group B of the inaugural Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan on Wednesday.

The Lady Chiefs and Lady Red Spikers share the opening day winners’ list with idle Adamson University.

Game time is at 4:00 p.m. and will air via livestream.

Arellano University hurdled its NCAA rival College of St. Benilde, 25-20, 25-22, 17, last Saturday.

Jovielyn Prado led the way for the Lady Chiefs with 14 while Anne Esguerra had 13 in Arellano’s surprising sweep of the Lady Blazers.

The Lady Red Spikers trounced Technological Institute of the Philippines 25-13, 25-18, 25-27, 25-13, to open its campaign.

San Beda will pin its hopes on Cesca Raqraquin, Satrianni Espiritu and the Viray twins, Jiezela and Nieza, to pull off an upset.

Racraquin caught fire in their debut with 19 points while Espiritu had 18 for the Mendiola-based squad.
