University of the Philippines looks to regroup after a painful opening day loss.
Winless University of the Philippines and Technological Institute of the Philippines clash to get out of the cellar in Group B of the inaugural Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan on Monday.
Opening serve is at 4:00 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream.
UP, TIP and College of St. Benilde all dropped their opening day matches.
The Lady Maroons absorbed a 25-17, 21-25, 25-19, 19-25, 9-15, defeat at the hands of UAAP rival Adamson University.
Diana Carlos and Isa Molde scored 19 and 14 points, respectively, in their debut but UP will need more effort and focus from the rest of the team to score a bounce back win despite reports that of head coach Jerry Yee’s exit.
Yee skipped last week’s match because of personal reasons, according to his coaching staff.
On the other hand, the Lady Engineers are also licking their wounds after crumbling to San Beda College, 13-25, 18-25, 27-25, 13-25, last week.
Former UP Alyssa Layug had 13 points in TIP’s debut while Ashley Jinon had 10.
