Cesca Racraquin and the San Beda Lady Red Spikers battle NCAA rival College of St. Benilde.
San Beda College hunts for a bounce back win as the Lady Red Spikers take on a familiar foe in College of St. Benilde on Wednesday in Group B of the inaugural Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Game time of the match that will serve as a rematch of the NCAA step-ladder semifinals last year is at 4:00 p.m. and will air via livestream.
The Lady Red Spikers opened their campaign on a high note after a four-set victory over Technological Institute of the Philippines but failed to capitalize on their momentum as they bowed down to reigning NCAA champion Arellano University, 25-22, 25-21, 25-18, exactly a week ago.
San Beda is tied with University of the Philippines with 1-1 win-loss record at third to fourth spots.
NCAA Season 92 rookie of the year Cesca Racraquin has been consistent for the Mendiola-based squad, averaging 14 points per game. But she will need more contributions from her teammates to avoid a losing skid.
The NCAA Season 91 champs Lady Blazers suffered an early setback after absorbing a 20-25, 22-25, 17-25, defeat at the hands of the Lady Chiefs in the tournament opener last Sept. 2.
Graduating middle Ranya Musa and Rachel Austero, who combined for only 11 points the last time, need to perform better for the Taft-based squad to barge in the win column.
