Injury-riddled Ateneo de Manila University fights for a bounce back win.
Ateneo de Manila University and Lyceum of the Philippines University clash to notch a second win in Group A of the inaugural Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The match begins at 4:00 p.m. and will air via livestream.
The injury-riddled Lady Eagles and Lady Pirates are tied at third to fourth spots with 1-1 win-loss record but are coming off contrasting results in their previous outings.
LPU barged in the win column with a 25-20, 24-26, 25-13, 25-22, victory over Jose Rizal University last Wednesday behind Christine Miralles’ 18 points and combined 30 markers of Cherilyn Sindayen and Rocelyn Hongria.
Ateneo, on the other hand, absorbed a 25-17, 21-25, 19-25, 14-25, defeat against Far Eastern University in a game where the Lady Eagles played without Bea De Leon (immersion) and injured players Maddie Madayag (ankle sprain) and Ana Gopic (hamstring).
The Lady Eagles also lost Kim Gequillana in the third set of the match against FEU after injuring her left knee.
Team captain De Leon is expected to suit up to lead Ateneo’s charge while Madayag, Gopico and Gequillana are doubtful to see action and remain day-to-day.
